"Access to appointments"

History of gout. Not on treatment but want to go on it asap due to 4/6 attacks a year now. I've always just put up with it until this attack. Rang for an appointment as my foot, toes, top side were all red painful & swollen, no sleep and could barely walk about. I got my appointment but when there told to see a trainee person, why I have no idea ? Then was put in with a qualified doctor.

Explained that I was asking for uric acid drugs for another attack of gout to be told that it didn't look in keeping with gout as it wasn't just over my big toe. I've had that many attacks now, it goes into my foot & ankle as well as the toe! I told them, but nope it's not gout it's a foot infection, put on penicillin, do blood form. Tried to sort that but can only have bloods done in a couple of weeks? Daft as my uric acid levels will probably be back to normal then ?  No pain killers, no tablets to reduce uric acid levels, sent home , finished all antibiotics, foot the same as it was before. 

I'm my wife's carer and I can't do jack poop for her !  Wife rang the surgery to tell them antis have done nowt  to be told ring back next Monday at the same time.  Wife said I should have been given something for pain and gout blah blah should have an x-ray done asap but got nowhere. As no emergency app wait till next week and try your luck ! Again daft. My wife asked then to speak to manager who rang us back and just repeated what we'd all ready been told.

After all this I will be moving surgeries as we did not find the service helpful.
