"Care was second to none"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I have had recent visits to this department in Wishaw - one where my son was gravely unwell and was ventilated, and one where I myself had to visit for treatment.

I would like to share my utmost thanks to the doctors and nurses who attended both my son and I. Their care was second to none. Excellent care and compassion shown.

I would like to mention doctors Arran and Sho and nurses Mary and Jodie who are an absolute credit to this department! I can’t commend them highly enough.

Dear Isabella kirk

Thank you for your comments on this care opinion platform. Firstly, I am sorry to hear of how unwell both you and your son were and I am delighted to hear of the help and support you both received from the staff amidst the pressure the Emergency team were under.

The team will fully appreciate what you have outlined as your experience as a patient and relative attending the Emergency Department. I hope that your recognition of the professionalism and dedication of the staff, who provide selfless care with compassion for those in their charge, will provide some comfort for those who are currently experiencing delays when attending our Emergency Department.

I will ensure your comments are fed back to the team

Kind regards and I hope that both your and your son’s health is improving

Best wishes

Faith
