"Exemplary care and compassion"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Cardiology & Coronary Care Unit Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Clinical haematology Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Endoscopy Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Renal Medicine Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency Victoria Hospital / Cardiology Victoria Hospital / Renal

(as a service user),

I would like to commend the services and staff of the following Victoria hospital A&E, Renal and Coronary teams, the ambulance service for the prompt care , treatment and attention received during my recent stay following my heart attack. Due to complex issues I was transferred to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to have stents fitted and again the treatment was exemplary and swift, thanks to the Hemophilia, Coronary, Haemotology and Renal teams.

A few days after my return home I suffered a bleed in my stomach / bowel, the prompt action of the ambulance crew had me back directly to Edinburgh where the same teams plus the endoscopy team were able to diagnose and rectify the problem.

Laid out like this it all looks so simple now. Far from it took skill complex equipment and training to accomplish this in a short time.. But more importantly it took the dedication and commitment of staff of the various departments to closely cooperate over and beyond there normal boundaries to arrive at a successful conclusion.

Again many thanks to all staff for their exemplary care and compassion.

Dear DollyMixtures,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to you, that sounds terrifying. I do hope that you are feeling better. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulances attended and your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
