Dear HMQ13,

Having a wisdom tooth taken out is a safe and common dental procedure. However, as with any surgery there are associated risks and problems can sometimes occur.

It is so important that the risks and benefits of surgery are explained to every patient. This allows patients to ask questions about he procedure and be involved in decisions about their care.

The Dental Surgeon will ensure that the procedure is carefully planned with x-rays and sometimes scans to make sure any complications are avoided as much as is possible. I do hope this process did not cause you any distress and that you have had an uncomplicated recovery.

Best wishes,

Fiona

Update posted by HMQ13 (the patient)

I was looked after fantastically- the staff were amazing as I reiterated on this survey and the recovery has been amazing too. I only have great things to say about Glasgow's Dental Hospital. Thank you for your response too but please be aware I was not complaining in ANY way. I only have praise for the surgeon and all the staff there. They made me feel well at ease.
