"Removal of suspicious skin lesion"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Dermatology

(as the patient),

Today I was scheduled for an excision biopsy of a lesion on my leg.i was nervous and scared

As soon as I arrived I was greeted by a lovely nurse practitioner called Julie and a lovely healthcare assistant ( so sorry I forgot name ) . They were just so kind and supportive. they answered all my questions. Put up with my anxiety chat throughout the procedure which was done with a local anaesthetic.

Julie is very skilled at her job.her suture skills are just brilliant. I honestly can't fault her .it's impressive .Both Julie and her colleague were very professional clearly brilliant at their job under a very pressured work load.

I know from working in the trust that dermatology are under extreme pressures with long waiting lists. I can honestly say the girls never showed it .

They deserve medals. Please pass on to them my very huge appreciation for all the care they gave.

Dear Patient nurse

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share this lovely feedback about the care provided by the Dermatology Service at University Hospital Crosshouse

I am sorry to hear that you had to attend the hospital for the removal of suspicious skin lesion. This must have been quite an anxious time for you. It is however reassuring to know that you received such professional and supportive care from our staff whilst you were under our care. This is a lovely example of the patient centred care that we strive to provide.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the wider Dermatology Team and with Julie and her healthcare assistant in particular.

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
