"Horrendous service"

About: Wexham Park Hospital

My father who has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal lung and lymph nodes cancer had to wait 6 hours for an ambulance and then had to wait a further 10 hours in A&E in extreme pain he finally got offered a bed in the early hours of the morning after being there for 6 hours he didnt get put on a ward and was left uncomfortable. He said there was cues of people left in corridors and the whole place was just horrendous.

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for taking the time to share your father’s experience of Wexham Park Hospital. Please accept my sincere apologies on behalf of the Trust for the issues your father encountered.

I appreciate that the circumstances your father encountered were far from ideal – please be reassured that the situation you describe is very far from the level of service we want to deliver and we are working to improve things where we can.

Kind regards,

Alex Jackson, Patient Experience Manager, Frimley Health Foundation Trust
