"Deep appreciation to the pre diabetes progamme"

About: Western Health & Social Care Trust / Diabetes Prevention Programme

(as a service user),

My husband attended a pre diabetes programme led by Carol and I always listened in to learn too.  Carol welcomed my participation as support.  For someone who was skeptical on whether he could change things around and not cross that dreaded line into diabetes, Carol’s encouragement and best advice proved him wrong.

We are so grateful that this programme is offered. Carol is a fabulous group leader with a myriad of skills that she employs while working to help others improve their health and well-being.  We will keep adopting the changes made over the last months and work very hard not to become diabetic.  This will in turn have massive benefits for my husband and me but is also a cost saving to the hard pressed NHS.

More of these programmes that offer guidance on evidence based information should be made in a number of fields. We’re happy that we have been able to make small changes will substantial gain.

Thank you Carol for your guidance, advice, support, patience and humour.

Dear tommc24

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of your Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP) journey and engaging with Care Opinion platform.

DPP and I encourage participants to have support, while engaging with the programme. I am delighted that you could join us whilst providing assistance for your husband. You mentioned your husband was sceptical about making changes. I have no doubt with your help and engagement with DPP it has made a positive impact/result that will continue going forward.

Positive information and communication is an objective of mine, the groups and very importantly the individuals involved, get the very best I can offer as a facilitator. It give me great pleasure to read

“We will keep adopting the changes made over the last months and work very hard not to become diabetic”.

A behavioural change is not easy to achieve, however to learn that you both intend to adopt and continue the changes, you have both made, is an achievement in itself and hopefully will encourage other that are given the chance to partake in the DPP programme. During these challenges times it is so important to me and the programme that you can report the positive quality of treatment and care you received, which has empowered you both to continue to make small changes with substantial gain.

Thank you

CD
