"Overscheduled"

About: Fife Community Services / Immunisation Service

(as a parent/guardian),

Appt scheduled in the afternoon but could not receive as over scheduled / too busy. Invited to drop in at St Andrews community hospital. Queue was 1 hour.

Frustrated at having to use Saturday to get the vaccine.

Dear Sinkp95

I am Karen the Clinical Services Manager for the Immunisation Service.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience. We have seen an unprecedented uptake in young peoples flu since we gave appointment times to them instead of drop in. The clinics at the weekend were drop in and as you highlight this was very popular and did cause some queues. I can only apologise any inconvenience this caused. We offered the opportunity to attend the drop in as an extra opportunity but we are also returning back to the school.

If you wish to discuss further please contact me at karen.nolan@nhs.scot

Thank you again for highlighting this issue,
