"Disappointed "

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

Our adult son attended an appointment in late February/early March regarding a growth on his face. He was assured that it was not cancerous but needed to be removed sooner rather than later so he should get an appointment through - probably within 2 months.

He is still waiting some 8 months later, and after speaking to his GP to see if they could chase it up, the hospital simply said he is still on the list. No indication of how much longer he is expected to wait.

We appreciate that this may not be viewed as requiring immediate surgery but he’s been offered no explanation as regards the delay and there’s been no apology for providing him with an incorrect timescale for treatment.

I have a lot of respect for our NHS but this situation really isn’t acceptable.

Dear Anonymous,

I am so sorry to read your comments regarding our hospital. Please could I ask that you contact our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01782 676450 or via email at patientadvice.uhnm@nhs.net to provide additional information and allow them to support with your son's appointment.

Best wishes
