"Not a good experience"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Fracture Clinic

(as the patient),

Too long and need to sort there time zones out. I waited 3 hours for a 2 minute session, it's an absolute joke. Too many patients trying to be seen in a short amount of time.

Good morning,

Thank you for taking time to share your recent experience with us following your wait in the Fracture Clinic. I was sorry to see that you had incurred a delay and apologise for the impact of this for you.

I escalated this to the team who have provided the following response:

“Due the nature of this clinics all patients are slotted from 0900 to 1100, and then all seen through the morning.

This is done due the nature of the clinic as a high percentage of patients will then go to X-Ray, where they must wait their turn to have this done, and then either come back to see the surgeon or go to plaster room or to the treatment room. As patients are coming from either X-Ray or plaster room they will be “put back “in time order in the doctors list.”

The team understand the impact of this and apologise for the impact on wait times. As an action they will put up an information poster for patients waiting to explain the reasons behind some delays as well as ensuring this is communicated in the department.

Kind regards,

Aoife Isherwood
