We had been referred by GP for bloods due to ongoing sickness and dehydration
We were in the department for 8 hours - we were advised it was busy which I completely understand.
What I don’t get is the lack of any care or attention to the people waiting. Surely if you are on hospital grounds, have checked in you are under their care. There appeared to be no care or compassion for the patients waiting. Some staff came out to fill their water bottles etc without any eye contact to the waiting patients.
Everyone is aware that hospitals etc are busy, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of human care - it is very disappointing to see that as a service user in a vulnerable situation where you are reliant on the care, the staff appear indifferent to patients and the feeling is that you are a nuisance.
"Lack of human care"
