"Care of my husband"

About: Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 2 (Emergency Surgical) Victoria Hospital / General Surgery

(as a relative),

My husband was initially admitted to the Admissions 2 Ward. He was in considerable pain when admitted, feeling quite sick and didn't feel like eating. As he also has type 2 diabetes this caused added problems.

All the staff in the Admissions 2 Ward were exceptional. So efficient, kind, thoughtful and before long my husband began to feel slightly better.

He remained in the ward for three days while an ultrasound and MRI were carried out. He was then transferred to Ward 52 where the care again was exceptional.

Erin and Debby from Admissions 2 and Mrs Purple from Ward 52 to name a few, but in general we cannot praise all the staff in both areas enough.  This includes nurses of every level, doctors, consultants, cleaning staff, porters, food/teas, jugs of water, medication and time taken by everyone to explain the whole situation.

A huge thank you and well done.  My husband is now home and thankfully feeling so much better after the excellent care given by all concerned in a very hectic and stressful time for medical staff.

We are so lucky to have you all.

Dear McLaren

Thank you for taking the time to leave such great feedback for the staff in Admissions Unit 2.

I am glad that the experience for both you and your husband was a positive one and that he received the excellent care you describe.

I will share this with all the team in AU2.

I hope your husband is recovering well at home.

Best wishes to you both

Lynsey
