"No real guidance "

About: Poole Hospital

I was referred to the ladybird clinic for an ultrasound appointment this week, following symptoms at two separate gp appointments a couple of weeks prior. The appointment was late to start by about an hour. I was really worried about the appointment and attended alone. The lady who saw me seemed dismissive and unfriendly. After an examination she explained their only purpose was to rule out breast cancer and there was no offer for an ultrasound or any other support. Back to square one.

Dear Anonymous,

I am so sorry to hear that this has been your experience. It is disheartening to hear that staff were not kind and receptive and did not offer you any further guidance. I am sorry that the appointment was behind too and realise that this was not helpful with alleviating your worries whilst attending.

I would ask that you please get in touch with us at the Patient experience team so that we might address your concerns and help direct you to any further help and support. Our telephone number is 0300 019 8499 or you can email us at patientexperienceteam@uhd.nhs.uk.

I am sorry for the experiences you have had and would welcome your making contact so that we might assist you better.

With Kind Regards

The Patient Experience Team
