So I had been trying to get into to see my own GP for a few weeks as I was having problems with swallowing food, after many random diagnoses by out of hours GPs and Urgent Care and unnecessary contact to mental health services.
Trying to get an appointment and to get a diagnosis which actually makes sense and get some proper answers it feels like you need to jump through hoops, which when not feeling great is not the best way to go about things.
Whilst I partially agree that the members of staff on reception can ask questions to signpost, I don't think they should not be making medical decisions as they are not trained and should use common sense when speaking to patients.
I hope that after a delay in me finally getting to see a GP face to Face that there is no lasting damage to my health, however if there is you of course will be the first to know.
