"Made to feel worthless"

About: Burnley General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I recently attended Burnley Urgent Care Centre and the staff there made me feel worthless.

I have a number of existing medical  problems and these often get overlooked and I am classed as a frequent attender to Burnley Urgent Care . Some staff let me know with snide remarks like "oh you're here again".

I find this unacceptable to be victimised when I have gone to a place when I feel I need help. I have raised these similar issues before and was advised it shouldn't happen but it still does and this is not acceptable at all.

The staff often prejudge or minimise the severity of some illnesses and don't understand the anxiety it can cause patients.

I had it the other day where I went to urgent care with hypo symptoms and they put it down as a sore throat or put down false readings on the paperwork so it looks less trivial. This has been done on numerous occasions too.

Some staff at this department really do need to understand consequences of actions and verbal communication can have negative impacts on people's lives.
