"Appointment with consultant"

About: Victoria Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

Had various calls to rearrange my appointment earlier, was originally 12.30.

Rearranged to 11.15, arrived, waited 45 minutes, eventually getting seen at 12.00. Meant appointment with consultant had to be curtailed to 30 mins.

It was a waste of time anyway. As Bone Scan had not yet taken place so in my mind no real point talking about options re prostrate cancer at that point.

Consultant seemed more concerned with fitting all their appointments into the morning (moving appointments forward that meant we were all taken late) than giving enough time to properly see their patients. Not amused!

Sadly the reply only gives a general reply about feedback leading to improving the service, there's not really any mention though about how this would be actually be put into practise! No real need to discuss further - it should be obvious that appointment times should not be changed on the day when there is no certainty that they will be kept.

Also when there is a significant delay I.e. three quarters of an hour after half an hour appointments should be rearranged for another day or at least that option should be given!
