"All the staff I have met have been caring and knowledgable"

About: Yeovil District Hospital / Acute Medical Unit - AMU Yeovil District Hospital / Ward 9a

(as a service user),

I made three 999 calls in three weeks. All of which were for trouble breathing and shortness of breath. On the third call I was admitted into hospital. They were some very strange noises coming from my stomach and I was beginning to panic.

The ambulance arrived for me on Sunday morning. I was taken to Yeovil hospital, I was put on oxygen, cannulated and given regular nebulisers. I was also placed on an Ecg and a permanent obs machine. I also had my bloods taken and did a chest x-ray.

I was placed in the Acute Medical Unit for the first two night and given regular nebulisers, steroids and anti-biotics. I also provided a sputum sample.

For the next two night I was moved to 9A (Respiratory). I continues my steroids, anti-biotics and nebulisers here.

Following a meeting with the respiratory team, I was prescribed a Fostair and a Peak Flow Meter. I was told about how if the flow meter readings dropped I would contact my GP and use my Fostair as a Preventer and Reliever.

All the staff I have met have been caring and knowledgable. All these information I have been given has been clear and well explained. 9A have a lovely set of staff who made me feel cared for on their ward.

Many many many thanks.
