"There was time for good human connection"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

This wasn't the first time for a colonoscopy so I knew what to expect, and the choices I had over things like having sedation.

The stages from reception , checking in, the procedure etc worked well because of the personal contact , care and professionalism of each person I met , and especially because no-one rushed - there was time for good human connection.

I especially want to appreciate the nurse who was with me during the procedure ( throughout which I was relaxed ) because she put her hand on  either my arm or  my head.

This was such an meaningful way of connecting and communicating care
