"Heartless staff, impossible to get appointments"

About: Millview Surgery

Sadly I was hospitalised at the beginning of the week with high levels of blood infection and dehydration and after being discharged they told me I need tests immediately from my gp , 3 days trying and no appointments, what makes it worse is that I explained I have been in hospital and I am still in a lot of pain , and the self righteous med sec just said no appointments you will just have to keep trying basically not my problem, I they rang back and basically had to beg to get spoken to… the Second Lady I spoke to was completely different and said she would get someone to call me she could here I was distressed and very ill, she was lovely so why was the first women so obtuse, zero empathy, which made me feel like the NHS doesn’t care and clearly there are appointments available you are just power mongering and giving them to who you like, how dare you. The phone call was at 8:38am on 7/11/24 I suggest you replay and use it to get the lady in question either in a more suitable role that doesn’t involve talking to the general public (mop and bucket) or give her the appropriate training. People shouldn’t be made to feel like their health doesn’t matter. Quite frankly it’s disgusting and these servants shouldn’t be in the role they are in.

Unfortunately we don't have an abundance of appointments each day and we do become booked up very quickly every day. You should have been offered a pre-bookable appointment, but this would have been several weeks away. I will speak to staff and remind them to offer patients pre- bookable appointments. If you want sooner than what can be offered then you would be asked to ring back at 8.00am.

I'm sorry you felt the staff were rude to you. Staff regularly undertake customer care training and are therefore aware of how to deal with patients appropriately.

I am sorry that you are unhappy with the service that has been provided to you by the Surgery, you are within your rights to register at another surgery in Mansfield.
