"Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS)"

About: Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service

(as the patient),

I first submitted an email to SNBTS in late September '24, asking when I would receive my award for my 100th donation, which I had given in September. Apparently  my details have been passed to the 'Awards Ceremony enquiries team.

I submitted an official complaint 4 weeks later, as I'd heard nothing. Again, I got the same response from SNBTS, we will pass your details on to the enquiry team. I still haven't heard a thing.

In my opinion, I have received nothing short of absolute abysmal service! For the last 25 years I have attended the transfusion clinics & given these whole blood donations every 3 months. Surely the least I can expect is some communication! I appreciate the health service is stretched, but come on, show some professionalism!

Dear JCross24, I am so sorry to read this and understand your frustration with this.

Please can you send me an email Fiona.gaskell@nhs.scot and I will personally chase up for you. We are so proud of our all our donors but especially those who have reached their 100th donation- fantastic commitment, thank you. We are in the process of setting up some award ceremonies and I will ensure that you receive and invite to your local one.

Looking forward to hearing from you, and apologies again that you have had this experience.

kind regards,

Fiona

Head of Nursing, SNBTS
