"A real life guardian angel"

About: Psychological therapies / Maternity and Neonatal Psychological Intervention Services (MNPI)

(as the patient),

It wasn’t Kathleen I was originally assigned to when I was referred on to the bungalows in Larbert. My initial visit was with Martha in November 2022. I was choked with trauma,  PTSD and on high alert 24/7, however despite this as soon as you arrive in the bungalows there’s somewhat of a “glow” that hugs you as soon as you arrive and immediately I felt at ease. Martha was warm, welcoming and physically held me to reassure me.

The only negative thing I, albeit reluctantly, have to say about my experience from start to finish was the wait between my initial appointment and being assigned to Kathleen. I think I finally got to see her in June 2023 when I was 5 months pregnant. I was vulnerable, anxious, and not in control of my emotions whatsoever. I was desperate for help.

I was quite nervous initially but the bungalows had become a safe place for me. Kathleen has brought me back from the very brink on more than a few occasions and I truly believe she has saved my life. She has gone above and beyond what her job asks of her to make sure I stick around for my kids. She has helped me envision a future, whereas before I was always too busy trying to survive today to worry about tomorrow. She is kind, attentive, gentle and just honestly beautiful from the inside and out.

Kathleen is probably one of the first adults I’ve came across in my life that hasn’t let me down. The minute I sat in her room with her tapestry and little lights I knew I was safe. She has built me up and helped me flourish and I truly would not be the woman and mother I am today without her. She is absolutely 100% my guardian angel. This service has been invaluable to me, and my friends and family often comment on the difference in me now. Kathleen has helped me see that actually life will be okay and for that I will be forever grateful.

Dear ChelleBelle147

I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to give this wonderful feedback. I am delighted to hear that Martha and Kathleen made you feel at ease and safe. It’s heartening to know that Kathleen was able to help you flourish and envision a brighter future. I’m so glad you’re feeling much better now, and I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

I apologise for the wait you experienced.

I will be sure to pass your beautiful feedback on to Martha and Kathleen, who will be touched to receive it.

Thank you once again for your kind words.

Warm regards,

Linda McAuslan
