About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Gastroenterology Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Neurology

(as the patient),

I’ve waited so long to have a review, so much so I’ve all but given up.

I actually contemplated ending my life

I had to finish up paying private off my state pension, that broke me financially

I desperately need a review of my situation, my stomach and bowel won’t last much longer

I have neuropathic pain ,my body burns ..like being thrown onto a fire and I struggle to get out of bed

Dear Arronsgran

I am very sorry to hear about your wait for your appointment and for the impact this is having on you.

If you can contact my colleague Conrad on 0141 201 3206, they will see if they can provide you with an update regarding your referral.

If you need urgent help, please speak to your GP or call NHS 24 on 111.

If you just need to talk with someone, there is help available:

The Samaritans are there 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can call them on 116 123 (freephone) or email: jo@samaritans.org

Breathing Space offers a confidential phone line for anyone in Scotland feeling low, anxious or depressed. You can call free on 0800 83 85 87.

Thanks

Nicole

Dear Aaronsgran

Thank you for getting in touch and you are very welcome.

I have been advised that you have been referred to other departments rather than Gastroenterology. If you contact our Referral Management Centre on 0800 592087 they should be able to provide you with an update. The phone lines can be busy, so you might want to email them @ Appointmentsbookingcentre@ggc.scot.nhs.uk If emailing it’s helpful if you can include your name, and CHI number (if known) or your date of birth.

Take Care

Nicole

Hi Nicole I will certainly phone this number on Monday, your previous message was so helpful, now I can try the referral Management Centre number you’ve kindly given.

I really appreciate all the help you have given...a glimmer of hope that not all is lost.
