"I provided my story"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency Pilgrim Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

My story started in 2017. Abdominal bloating, bleeding from the rectum, anaemia. In Peterborough City hospital finding the problem: diverticulitis. After blood transfusion I start feeling better.

In the following years the situation with rectum bleeding was repeated till may 2020, after that start abdominal pain, bloating, cramping, by pressing and distending the abdomen. Later was diagnosed the IBS.

I got a lot of specialist appointments with negative medication outcome. I got around 100 A&E visits with the same result, like we cannot help you, we don't know was causes the pain and don't help me with symptoms and sending me home to care yourself.

Long standing the situation lead to losing a job. Now I am on benefits with abdominal pain and waiting for miracle.

Dear Perast,

Thank you for providing feedback following your visit to Pilgrim hospital, I am sorry that we could not provide the treatment you expected.

The Emergency Department provides medical care for patients with life-threatening conditions and injuries that require immediate care. I understand that you still have unexplained symptoms and would advise you to contact your GP to be assessed and directed to the the most appropriate services.
