"I felt in a state of worry constantly"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Cardiothoracic Surgery

(as a service user),

I had cardiac surgery and was on ward 102. I was in agonising pain and kept asking for pain medications which I was due but I experienced nurses who were rude and dismissive. They would take hours to get me the meds. I wasn't informed about what was going on and what the results of my tests like ecg were showing, so I felt in a state of worry constantly because I didn't know if something was going wrong. I wanted to ask questions and get an update on my surgery as things didn't go exactly to plan but felt like i was just treated like a patient rather than a person, with people disregarding my worries.
