I went to A&E recently after contacting 111. The initial check in and triage process was great and relatively quick.
I was then taken through to another department to see a Doctor. Once again pre check etc were thorough and prompt. The Doctor did an examination, inserted a cannula and gave me a fluid drip.
After less than an hour I was transferred to Elizabeth ward. The pre checks were immediate and done with sympathy. After blood and urine tests, and consultation with a doctor. Was transferred to Murphy Ward at about in the evening. Once again all pre checks were done quickly and with empathy.
It was first ever night in hospital and the staff were very supportive and understanding knowing I had mental health issues. I spent 3 nights and days on the ward until my discharge.
Throughout my stay I cannot fault anything. All the staff were wonderful and supported each other as well as the patients. When I say all staff obviously my first hand contact was mainly with Murphy ward, however everyone through out the hospital were fantastic, especially the ones who repeatedly gave my husband directions to the ward.
I would not say I miss my time in Murphy ward but if I had to go through the experience again I would feel very reassured about going back. I can only give you my thoughts on the 3 areas of the hospital I experienced this time but I would have utter confidence in all aspects of care at the hospital.
I would appreciate if you could pass this feedback to the departments.
Kind regards.
"Great care"
