Bloods in Perth used to be taken in a building at Beech grove. Parking was available and to get bloods taken you were in and out under 5 minutes. The service was highly efficient.
Now, patients are asked to go to the centre of Perth - Drumhar. There is no parking available nearby, certainly no guarantee of a space. This costs extra in fuel and possibly parking charges.
On attending appointment you have to enter the surgery and pass a waiting room full of patients waiting to see a GP/nurse. Then wait in a tiny waiting room - I waited for 40 minutes. We are coming into winter bug time and I don't wish to pass ill people, wait around too long in a tiny, unventilated room. The place was awful. This is not a suitable alternative to Beechgrove.
To sum up - further to travel, fuel costs, parking with or without charges farther away from surgery, chance of picking up winter bugs, more waiting time to be seen, inefficient service. Who's idea was this? The likelihood of missed or not attended appointments will I think be higher as a result.
