"Recovery from a stroke"

About: Integrated Care / Community / Community Neurorehabilitation Service / CNRS

(as the patient),

Last December I had a stroke, this was a huge shock to myself and my family. I felt relieved that I had survived. I was scared for my future.

From the care I received from stroke unit at Stepping Hill hospital and the after care has been truly fantastic.

I received a call as soon as I was discharged from the stroke nurse. I then had visits from the Occupational Health team.

We would like to express our gratitude to Sarah the OT, Emma the speech and language therapist, as well Chloe another OT.

You have all contributed to my recovery and made me the best I could be after my stroke. Thank you so much to all of this wonderful team.

You have all been so professional and supportive during my recovery, you are a credit to the NHS.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for sharing your feedback about the support from the community neurorehabilitation team. Having a stroke does have a huge impact on your life so I am really pleased to see the care you received has not only helped reassure you but also helped you on your recovery.

I have shared this with the team leads who will ensure your feedback is shared with Sarah, Emma and Chloe so they are aware of their contribution to your care.

I wish you well with your onward recovery.

Kind regards,

Aoife Isherwood

Patient Experience Team
