"I will never be more indebted to a person"

About: Fife Community Services / Health Visiting

(as a parent/guardian),

Our little girl is now a thriving, happy and clever almost 3 year old and I cannot give enough thanks to all the support from the health visiting team and specifically Debbie. She is worth her weight in gold.

Our daughter began with terrible colic around 3 weeks old and this just got worse and worse. Debbie was the only health professional that would listen to my concerns. Debbie got us on the pathway for changing milks due to CMPA and this unfortunately took months and some input from paediatrics to get her well. I became quite mentally unwell during this and Debbie continuously checked in and made lots of suggestions and referrals for myself as well as making sure our little girl was getting the right help.

I will never be more indebted to a person. She has become such a big part of our story and definitely saved my motherhood journey.

I am so upset and sad that Debbie has now been switched off of my family as for almost 3 years she knows us inside out and to start all over again now is really upsetting. It would have been nice to finish out our journey with Debbie after all this time. She is such an asset to the team and deserves so much recognition, she absolutely goes above and beyond and I'm sure not just for my family.

Debbie's new families are so so lucky to have her, I'll really miss having her.

Dear starrs48

Many thanks for taking the time to respond on Care Opinion, sharing your experience of working with Debbie, your health visitor and the support received from the wider HV team. I am pleased to hear that Debbie has been a vital part of your motherhood journey and supporting you through a difficult time during CMPA of your daughter. It is heartening to hear the impact that Debbie made to you and your family.

We understand your disappointment regarding the geographical change, but it's great to know that Debbie had such a positive impact during her time with your family. We will make sure your kind words are passed on to her and the HV team, and we truly appreciate your recognition of her hard work and the support she provided.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Kind regards

Jodie Gunn
