I visited the surgery to see my Gp complaining of a painful neck and arms, numbness and tingling in my hands. After his examination he sent me for an emergency mri. Within two days of having the mri another Gp from the practice called me to say that she was referring me to see a spinal consultant.
Upon seeing the consultant at the end of July, I had my surgery scheduled for early September. It was rescheduled to October due to more tests being required to ensure my safety due to the complexity of the Cervical Spine surgery that was needed to stop my condition from getting worse and possibly loosing the use of my limbs. My Gp was thorough and clearly understood that there could have been something amiss. He expedited the referral for my mri.
I was surprised to get the call only two days after my mri from another one of the doctors from the practice that I had never met. She clearly understood the urgency as the mri report indicated Myopathy. Which is a condition where the spinal cord is being compressed. In my case it was a five point inpingment. With signs of nerve damage already appearing.
I feel so lucky to be a patient at a practice that clearly has Doctors that are dedicated to giving exception patient care. Excellent listening, understanding and expediency from the Doctors and staff at The Village Surgery.
Thank you all for helping me maintain my health.
"Admiration and Gratitude."
