"Maternity Care"

I had my second child in the Midwifery led unit in Daisy Hill Hospital and thanks to all the lovely midwives, I had the most beautiful experience. At every appointment, the midwives explained everything well and worked with me to achieve the birth I preferred. When going to the hospital to give birth, Dervla my midwife was so calming on the phone when giving her advice, she greeted my partner and I when we arrived and was so reassuring and supportive throughout. She and her colleague Jo, got the birthing pool prepped for me, had low lighting and a diffuser set up. Dervla answered all my partners questions whilst also encouraging me throughout. Our beautiful daughter was born in the birthing pool which was just a dream! 

Dervla and Jo were amazing the entire time at supporting us. 

When we were up on the ward, we were well looked after by the other midwives and Judith the breastfeeding support midwife came round and she was so supportive with helping me get baby to latch and hand express until she was ready to latch. 

Ultimately, we couldn’t recommend Daisy Hill for maternity enough!
