Last week my Mum was transported from another hospital to Craigavon to get a CT Scan after another fall. When we found out results of CT Scan it wasn't a great outcome from it. When we were all sorted with obs, and talked to doctor about results, we were transferred to Discharge lounge in the evening, waiting on ambulance, to return to previous Hospital.
The staff made mum very comfortable during her time in this area and as a close family it settled us too. During that time in Discharge Lounge area Mum started to fell unwell. She got the shakes. I asked one of the 3 staff could they check mum out. They were all very quick in getting mums obs done. My Mum's blood pressure, pulse, temperature, was all very high. Attention to detail was amazing from all 3 staff involved. Bloods done very quickly, Doc from Casualty was alerted, Covid test done ( result came back negative). They changed mums Pad and repositioned mum to make her comfortable. They encouraged more fluid intake for mum too. Then we got word from one of the nurses that mum was staying in Craigavon tonight. Mum needed to be observed. The staff transffered Mum to her ward for observation. They stayed over there time and helped set up new bed in new ward.
The staff in Discharge lounge was very quick, observant, and made us as a family feel our Mum was getting well looked after. Thank you so so much to the staff on that helped our Mum. You are a credit to the NHS.
