About: South West Acute Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I have been pregnant for 38 weeks now, and since day one, none of the appointments have been on a time. I have no problem waiting 10 or 15 min, but when it comes more then an hour its not okay anymore. Every single appointment takes more then 2 hours. The craziest one was 3 hours and the doctor said that he had no idea why am i here.

I don’t like hospitals and it makes me super anxious and waiting hours for your appointment is horrible. I can hear nurses and midwives and receptionist talking about their holidays. Have never seen hospital like SWAH.

Dear tigertm73

Thank you for taking the time to post some feedback in relation to the care you experienced in womens health and the fetal assessment unit.

I am sorry to hear that you experienced delays in relation to your appointments.

I understand it can be an anxious time while you are waiting for your appointment, but unfortunately circumstances occur which can be outside our remit which subsequently delays scheduled appointments.

I apologise for your inconvenience.

Kind Regards

Mairead McKenna

Midwifery Sister
