About: Victoria Hospital / Day surgery Victoria Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as the patient),

I was in for my next operation and this time instead of the Queen Margaret, I was asked to go to the Victoria in Kirkcaldy.

The Day Surgery team were absolutely lovely, so friendly and accomodating, the surgical team as always were top notch.

I was moved to Ward 5 for an overnight stay and I can honestly say that the staff were incredible, they were so friendly, welcoming and supportive, I felt like I could relax and recover well. Everyone took the time to say hello and introduce themselves and it was such a lovely team of professionals.

My only suggestion to the hospital as a whole would be, perhaps looking at how they could bring a small library for patients to read during their stay that can also comply with infection control.

Thank you to the Day Surgery and Ward 5 ENT teams for their amazing care and to the surgical teams for completing the op to a standard where I needed no pain relief following it.

We as a Team on Ward 5 pride ourselves in providing a warm, welcoming, friendly and professional approach to all of our patients so this was lovely to hear.

I am glad you felt that we provided a relaxing environment for you to recover from your operation, we understand that coming into hospital can be a very vulnerable experience so I am glad that we were able to support you well in your recovery.

Thank you for your suggestion about the hospital providing a small library, this is something that I may look into for our ward based on advice from our Infection Control Team.

It will give me great pleasure to feed back to the team, your lovely comments.
