About: West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital (Yorkhill) / Cardiac Rehabilitation

(as the patient),

I had 2 heart attacks one in December 2023 and one in April 2024, after having great treatment at the QEUH and the Golden Jubilee hospitals I was referred to the Cardio team at Yorkhill Hospital,

I have had nothing but great treatment from everyone involved. My cardio problems were self inflicted by smoking and poor diet. The teams at the hospitals and the cardio team at Yorkhill helped me get back on the right track again with diet and quitting smoking. I now attend a cardio gym every week for approx an hour, and I feel much better for it.

I'm sorry to hear of your heart health problems with 2 heart attacks in the last year. That sounds a lot to deal with.

It's inspiring to hear of the positive changes you have made with your diet, stopping smoking and exercising at the gym. The cardiac rehabilitation team will be delighted to hear their support has been of help to you with your recovery. I look forward to sharing with the team that you are attending the gym and feeling much better for it.

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you well and thank you for taking the time to share your story. It will mean a lot to the team.
