"Made me feel like I shouldn’t be there"

About: South Tyrone Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit

(as the patient),

Upon arrival for my appointment, I was greeted by a young, pleasant receptionist. I had arrived a little early. The receptionist asked another member of staff about my appointment and they very abruptly answered that my appointment wasn't until 10:40am, go away and come back in 10 minutes. I felt very uncomfortable with this staff member's tone, which made me feel like I shouldn’t be there . I’ve since been in and had the assessment which was very efficient and an extremely excellent service which is provided .

Thank you for taking the time to highlight your experience of the Minor Injuries unit at STH. I am very sorry that you were made to feel uncomfortable when you arrived for your appointment. I will highlight with all the staff within the department. I am glad despite your initial encounter with the staff that you were seen and treated efficiently by one of the Emergency Nurse Practitioners. I hope you are recovering well.

Stacey
