"Treated my Dad as a human being"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Victoria Hospital / Out of Hours

(as a relative),

I recently telephoned NHS 24 regarding my Dad. My call was answered within 10 minutes by Ewan, who was very professional, taking all the details and listening to me.

I then spoke to Neil, who was also very professional and a GP was requested to visit my Dad at home.

Dr McKenzie GP out of hours visited my Dad. He was very professional and treated my Dad as a human being, even though my Dad has no speech due to MND and is very deaf he took time to explain everything. He issued medication and my Dad is on the mend.

I would just like to thank everyone who was involved as they were very professional.

Dear Piglet271

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I'm sorry to learn you had cause to call NHS 24 when your dad was feeling unwell. However, I am glad to read he is starting to feel much better.

I understand there were multiple services involved in your dad's care. I am replying on behalf of NHS 24. I am delighted to read the kind comments regarding your contact with Ewan and Neil when you called the 111 service. If you wish to share some more information with me, it would assist in identifying the staff who managed your call and share your Care Opinion story with them. We always like to ensure that staff see positive feedback to reinforce for them how valued their care is when people call our services. You can contact me by email at Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Thank you again for sharing your experience and please pass on our best wishes to your Dad.

Kind regards,

Laura
