I recently experienced a silent miscarriage, my scan experience wasn't the best as I had to wait what seemed like an age to have it confirmed, due to attending for a private scan which EPAS at Wishaw did not accept and the fact that EPAS at Wishaw has changed it's guidance on how long you have to wait before they can confirm a miscarriage (different from all other units in Scotland).

Outwith that I then had to attend for a procedure, the Midwife was so kind and caring she supported me throughout the entire process from talking me through the options available to me too holding my hand and getting me through my procedure. All of the staff I encountered in EPAS were very caring, however a special thanks to the midwife, she truly is an Angel and clearly has a passion for caring for ladies in these circumstances.

Please accept my condolences. I am sorry if any delay to process added further stress and anxiety at an already difficult time. EPAS guidelines for scan appointments and referral have been recently reviewed. I am not sure how long you had to wait for confirmation however if you would be willing to share further details, please do contact myself or any of the senior team. Its really important to us to listen, learn and improve services based on your experience. I am glad to hear you did have compassionate care from the midwife during your stay with us. Thank you for sharing your experience of EPAS services as a whole. The team work hard to deliver kind and compassionate care tailored to your needs.
