As a family we have been attending appointments at Bocombra Lodge over a number of months. On a recent appointment there were a number of adults and young people squeezed into a doorway such is the lack of a waiting room. This has always been an ongoing concern for me but on the recent visit a young person and their mother were struggling as the young person was upset. With us all standing there where was the dignity / privacy being afforded to that young person , indeed all of us standing like basically cattle. Attending CAMHs is a challenging experience for everyone involved but please have some thought and consideration for the young people and carers.

Hello

Thank you for getting in contact with us through Care Opinion. It is disappointing to hear that your experience in CAMHS was impacted by the lack of a waiting area in the Bocombra Clinic and it is our hope that we can have this addressed. We recognise how difficult it can be for young people and families attending CAMHS and it is important that the environment is as welcoming and comfortable as possible. Dignity and privacy are vital to the work that is carried out across the Trust and I can assure you that this information will be shared with the relevant persons in order to review our waiting area accommodation.

Can I thank you for raising the matter with us as this gives us an opportunity to address your concerns with a view to improving the experiences of young people and their families when visiting the Bocombra Clinic.
