"Receptionist Needs Customer Service Training"

About: Middleton Lodge Practice

Australian receptionist was very rude and abrupt to my 17 year old daughter. I asked her to ring up and see if she could see a doctor following flying back from her holidays with sinus pain and earache. She rang and spoke to this receptionist - who didn't even ask for her name or date of birth, she was told that she had 'no chance of seeing a doctor' my daughter asked her if she should ring the following morning she was abruptly told "did you not hear the answer machine message" you have Covid symptoms so no chance of seeing a GP and hung up on her.

She's had a bad cold that has affected her sinuses. We rang NHS 111 in the end and spoke to a Doctor in the treatment Centre who referred to a Pharmacist who have treated her for a Sinus Infection.

My point being is that my daughter is 17 years old and has only ever rang doctors once before and was spoken to harshly. If the receptionist had checked her age they would have realised she is still under 18, she also did not have Covid.

The receptionist seriously needs customer service training in the way she speaks to people, and by all means I am not the only one who has complained.
