I would like to offer my thanks to the nurses and particularly the healthcare assistants for their day and night care whilst I was a patient at Musgrove Park Hospital. I was initially admitted due to delirium which was later identified as being caused by a kidney infection. Before this I had been experiencing uncomfortable bloating for some weeks. The infection was managed on other wards and when it had cleared I was then able to be treated for bowel obstruction which was the cause of the bloating. At this point my care for the next two weeks took place on Hestercombe Ward.
Staff on the ward were always there at the call of a button and in my case their attention to hygiene during my stay was exemplary, nothing was too much trouble. Although an embarrassing and uncomfortable experience, every nurse and healthcare assistant put my dignity first, considered my preferences and reassured me.
I thank them all very much indeed, truly exceptional people.
"Exceptional care and dignity"
