I would like to pass on my gratitude and appreciation to the midwives who cared for me prior to and following the birth of my daughter at the end of September. I experienced incredible care from all clinicians I encountered in Day care, Maternity assessment, induction ward, labour and delivery and post natal ward.
I had a relatively uncomplicated pregnancy but encountered some challenges towards the end and in the post partum period. Each midwife, medic and HCA I encountered treated me with such respect and dignity, and provided great reassurance during what was a daunting time for me and my husband, particularly during my time on ward 47, post partum in maternity assessment and during the delivery of my daughter.
I particularly would like to thank Midwife Siobhan, Student midwife Erin and Registrar Sean (apologies if this name is incorrect), and the extended medical, paediatric and midwifery team, for their incredible professionalism and support during my labour and delivery. Unfortunately for me this wasn't the most straightforward process and despite some challenges where one would expect to feel disconcerted, I felt incredibly safe and knew that the appropriate actions would be taken to bring my daughter safely into the world. Despite the situation changing and evolving quickly, each staff member, particularly Siobhan, remained confident and in control, and demonstrated such excellent communication with me and with each other. I am confident that their quick and timely actions kept both my daughter and I safe and well, and for that my husband and I are eternally grateful.
I would also like to thank both Midwife Jacqui and Student Abigail who took care of me and my daughter following delivery. When I was feeling quite unwell and overwhelmed they were an incredible source of strength and comfort for me and I will be forever grateful for their kind words and support whilst in such a vulnerable position.
Both student midwives Erin and Abigail were excellent in their roles, to the point where both my husband and I had to question whether they were students as we were so impressed with their conduct. Their communication/clinical skills, knowledge and compassion displayed was that of qualified members of staff, both of these women have bright futures ahead of them as Staff Midwives.
My husband, daughter and I would like the above staff members and those on ward 47 and 48 to know that their kindness and professionalism has not gone unnoticed and that we are forever grateful to them for keeping both my daughter and I, safe and healthy.
Kind Regards
"So grateful for keeping my daughter & I, safe and healthy."
