"Lack of adequate sedation"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

I had an appointment in the Endoscopy Dept. Whilst most of the planned visit was pleasant with warm friendly staff the actual procedure ( Colonoscopy ) was brutal. I expected to feel slight discomfort, given I asked for Sedation, but it was like no pain relief was given at all! The Gas & Air was taken away from me, really one of the most painful experiences in my life. And I understand pain, having major abdominal surgery previously. So please make sure that the sedation you offer meets your standards and isn't compromised in any way, to save anyone else having to go through what I experienced today.

Hope this constructive criticism helps
