"Help with my child fear of blood tests."

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Play Service

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was 5 when he started getting blood tests regularly for the medication he is on. At first, he was really anxious and scared and would have melt downs, scream the place down and try to run out the room. Rachael from the play specialist team booked him in for one-to-one sessions to try help him work through his worries. Racheal helped put his mind at rest through activities she did with him, and today for the first time ever he walked in for his blood test and got it done straight away without even a single tear. I cannot thank her enough.

“I love being brave and I like having blood tests thanks to Rachael” (My son's own words).
