"Amazing "

About: Bedford Hospital South Wing

My 2 year old was recently admitted to Riverbank ward after a short stint in the A&E department. The care we received was second to none and we couldn't fault anyone or any department.

For what was a very very scary time for us as a family the care of the staff and how they cared for our daughter was brilliant and we couldn't have asked for anymore.

We were on holiday at the time of the accident so this was not our local hospital, we were asked if we wanted to be transferred to our local hospital but due to the level of care we had already received by this point we declined and wanted to stay.

I cannot remember a lot of the names that looked after us but there are a few faces that we remember well and i hope this gets back to them and they are able to know who they are.

The female Doctor that took charge of our care in the A&E department was amazing and kept us updated as and when when during this time we were incredibly worried and not sure if our daughter would make it, she was so reassuring and really helped us feel a little more at ease.

Foundation dr on Riverbank ward was always there for not only my daughter but to the rest of us as a family and ensuring we were all okay due to the nature of the accident. He was always around if we had any questions and would help us as much as possible when he could and was extremely approachable.

Nurses on Riverbank ward All i can say is thank you. For the care you gave our daughter and adapting things and willing to try different things to help when she was having her observations and any other interventions done and again for ensuring our comfort and making sure we were okay and had everything we need.

The MaxFax doctor was incredible and sang to my daughter to help her get through her examination and was extremely patient.

Critical care ensured we had all of our questions answered and ensured we knew even though we were discharged that we could come back to them at any point if we were worried.

The play specialists that work so hard ensuring there is fun activities for the children to do everyday. This was a safe haven for us and gave us that change of scenery we all needed and being able to see our daughter play and have some enjoyment was great. Also for coming to appointments with us and not only helping to support my daughter but also for supporting us too.

The two doctors that came to see her before she could be discharged were great and did her checks in a play car whilst she was playing outside which helped her so much.

The safeguarding nurse always kept us informed and made sure we were okay and had support.

The eye team and Dr that came to see us in her room were great and played videos for her to watch whilst she was having her examination again just making everything that little bit easier.

It doesn't feel enough to just say thank you. This was the hardest week of our lives and we are just in awe of the care and treatment we received. Thankyou so much.
