I wanted to take some time to write a massive thank you to my care team on the labour ward at the princess royal maternity hospital in Glasgow.
I have written letters to those involved and will get them taken in very soon but in the meantime -
Thank you to Jan, Mel, Gemma and Gillian who were my midwifery care team during a gruelling 29 hours of labour. I’m petrified of needles and have very bad white coat syndrome and these wonderful ladies went above and beyond to care for me and ensure they did everything possible to hide anything away that would cause me upset.
I had a really difficult labour and they were so supportive and kind to me the full way through. I really couldn’t have asked for a better team.
A very special thank you to Mr Mcmurray. A very special man with such a wonderful mannerism.
My worst nightmare was an emergency section. Mainly due to my complete fear of needles and the surgery. Mr Mcmurray was able to put this option into words in a way that made me see reason over my fear. He was very caring and extremely patient with my phobia - even talking to me during the surgery to put my mind at ease.
He brought my beautiful and perfect baby daughter safely into the world and left me with just a tiny scar to show for it.
I really could not be more grateful to this full team of talented and amazing people who made a really terrifying experience into something I was able to cope with. I have absolutely no horrible memories and if anything, these individuals have helped me combat a lifelong fear to be something I’m proud to have gone through.
Thank you so much for bringing my baby into the world and for leaving a lovely story that I get to tell her about the people who helped me on her birthday. You are all amazing and have definitely entered the right profession as kind and compassionate individuals.
Thank you so much.
"Really could not be more grateful to this team"
