I was admitted to ward 4 in Monklands University Hospital through out of hours as I was really unwell.
Right from the beginning I was treated well and with a quick turn around also. The girls in the ward were so lovely - Karen the charge nurse who looked after me on admission was like a wee mammy to me nothing was a hassle with her.
When she seen I was in so much pain and upset she was right there chasing the doctors for help. I was well looked after by all the team in the ward and felt right at home. Ward was kept immaculate as well and all staff were very professional and dealt with responses in a timely manner.
Watching them go about their busy day was fascinating, how they cope with busy chores and taking it in their stride and not one complaint. It was funny as there were two nurses with the same name as myself! Which we all laughed at.
Couldn’t thank them enough for their care. I am so pleased to be home in a timely manner because of their quick actions and recognition of a sick patient.
I was taken to theatre and investigated very quickly, given the best treatment and back home to my family when I was stable and ready. The surgical team were amazing. Mr Sharraf and his colleague MiMi were outstanding and very down to earth!
