My son collapsed at work after a week of feeling unwell and near collapses.
He had been to his GP the day before who took it very seriously and took blood for numerous tests.
He then collapsed the next day and I took him to A&E (no ambulance available). He was triaged quickly and whilst mentioned a terrible headache was not offered pain relief. There was a 4 hour wait which was fine as it was busy.
When we did finally see a doctor they were dismissive. It was almost like they had been told to just clear the backlog. The Doctor refused to listen to the history and said it was a simple faint. We both tried to say it had been happening all week with other worrying symptoms but the Doctor interrupted us constantly and just wanted us out of the door. Didn’t even give the painkillers that were offered and wouldn’t even check the blood tests he had taken by the GP.
Any other time I have had to be at A&E the treatment has been amazing but yesterday our experience was shoddy and dangerous.
