"I found the accountability very motivating"

About: Promoting Well Being / Diabetes Prevention team

(as a service user),

I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic & asked to go on a programme.

I was unsure how I would feel about the programme but found the facilitator helpful & reassuring.

I joined an online group. I enjoyed the interactive content of the programme & found it helpful to follow the book.

I found the accountability very motivating. I learned a lot about the benefits of lowering sugar content in foods, finding alternatives to some foods & the benefits of fruit & veg.

I learned more about exercise both cardio, strengthening exercises & normal day to day exercise.

Good Afternoon fornaxdy45,

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your experience of the Diabetes Prevention Programme.

It is normal for patients to feel surprised, worried and sometimes overwhelmed when they are first told that their HbA1c is raised. Often individuals can be apprehensive before joining a programme but it is great to hear that your facilitator was helpful and provided reassurance.

I am glad you enjoyed our sessions and it is great to hear the wide range of topics you are more informed on. Keep up all those positive changes!

The DPP team wish you continued success and good health.

Best Wishes,

Kathryn Bleakney

Diabetes Prevention Programme Manager
