I received an email offering me a cancellation, I gratefully accepted. In DOSA, nurses were all friendly, met the surgeons and anaesthetist.
About 3pm got taken to theatre, bit apprehensive about the spinal but everyone put me at ease and it was done before I realised, I wanted to watch the operation if it was possible, but unfortunately it was not available in my theatre, the anaesthetist gave me a running commentary.
Back on ward just after 6, fed and watered, stood up. The difference in me was amazing I feel like a new person.
The staff on ward 9 are some of the most caring, compassionate down to earth, kind of people with a fantastic outlook and sense of humour. The nurses, HCW, domestics, physiotherapists, OT, porters, Phlebotomist, Dr's, pharmacist's and the patients on my ward made my visit the best experience I could of hoped for.
I hope the managers appreciate the phenomenal job these people do. Keep it up your a credit to yourselves and the NHS. Thanks
