"Profit over patient care"

About: Burnham Medical Centre

My elderly relative came out of hospital after sepsis, he was very confused. He is on 13 different meds a day, some once, some twice a day.

I asked the pharmacy for dosette packages. They were extremely helpful and although takes them a lot of time, happily agreed but needed a weekly prescription, can't do four weeks at a time as not all the drugs are suitable out of blister packs after 14 days. GPs refused. Said it is too time consuming to sign a prescription once a week instead of once every four weeks. How long does it takes to electronically sign a repeat prescription??? More likely down to cost. The pharmacy also tried for me but no, GPs said no. However, if he were a drug addict he could have them weekly. Zero patient care leaving an 87 year old patient unsafe taking their meds in a state of confusion.
